Bantu Arts Academy
Unleashing Talent, Creating Opportunities, Shaping Futures
As stated in Uganda Vision 2040, Ugandans desire to be resourceful and prosperous nationals contributing to national development through gainful employment, savings and investments. According to the National Housing and Population Census 2024, youth aged 18-30 comprise 23% of Uganda's population, amounting to 10,418,337 individuals. Alarmingly, 41% of these youths
are neither employed, pursuing education nor undergoing any sort of training, as reported by the National Labour Force Survey of 2021. The job market pressure is only increasing, with 1.04 million youths turning 18 in 2023 alone, and 1.5 million expected to do so annually by 2040.
To address the growing challenge of youth unemployment and underemployment, the Bantu Arts Academy provides a holistic training model that integrates both artistic, vocational, and entrepreneurship training. The Academy not only focuses on nurturing artistic talent but also incorporates crucial skills such as entrepreneurship, fashion and makeup design, and soft skills like communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Our approach empowers both in-school and out-of-school youths by giving them the tools they need to either enter the job market or establish their own businesses. By doing so, we aim to contribute to national development, align with Uganda's Vision 2040, and ensure that young people play an active role in shaping the country's future.
Bantu Arts Academy aims to advance inclusive and sustainable development in Uganda by equipping marginalized youth with the skills, resources, and opportunities to participate productively in the cultural and creative industries.
