Family Background
Dorothy was born and raised in Bulaga, Kampala City (Central Uganda), in what she describes as a supportive and stable home. She grew up in a household of just two - herself and her father. Unlike many of her peers, she did not face major challenges with school fees, but she missed the companionship of siblings. Her journey has been shaped by a strong personal drive for excellence and her father’s unwavering commitment to securing the best possible opportunities for her education and talent development.
How Rockies Organization Stepped In
Dorothy began her artistic journey at Sosolye Undugu Dance Academy, where she took her baby steps in performance. Recognizing her potential and seeking broader opportunities for her, her father later introduced her to Rockies Organization in November 2018 to help nurture her talent, gain wider exposure, and access quality education. At Rockies, Dorothy found an environment that matched her energy, creativity, and ambition. Since then, the organization has supported her educational journey. She is currently enrolled at Maurice School of Baking and Decoration, where she is pursuing a course in Bakery - developing professional skills to complement her artistic talents.
Talent, Uniqueness & Achievements
Dorothy is a gifted singer and dancer, known for her vibrant performances and warm presence on stage. She particularly excels in traditional dances including Bakisimba, Nankasa and Muwogola (Central Uganda); Tamenha Ibuga, Irongo and Nalufuka (Eastern Uganda); Ekizino, Ekitaguriro and Kinyarwanda (Western Uganda) and Larakaraka (Northern Uganda). Her most memorable experience was her debut performance at the prestigious Serena Hotel - an opportunity that significantly boosted her confidence and marked a turning point in her growth as a performer.
Aspirations
Dorothy dreams of becoming a professional baker, building a career that blends artistic expression with entrepreneurship. She aspires to achieve economic independence by opening her own bakery in Kampala.
