Alex Wasswa Lusiba

Alex Wasswa Lusiba joined the Rockies Organization in 2024 as Programs Manager, bringing nearly two decades of experience in cultural management, community-based program design, and organizational development. His expertise spans performing arts, community development, Intangible Cultural Heritage Safeguarding and Organizatiional Development (OD) consultancy, making him a versatile leader in both program delivery and organizational strengthening.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Drama (Hons) from Makerere University, with further specialization in Cultural Economics and Management, equipping him to link cultural initiatives with sustainable community impact. He is also a UNESCO-trained Expert in ICH safeguarding.
Alex has worked with UNESCO as National Expert on the Community-Based Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventorying project in Uganda (2010–2011), where he facilitated training, coordinated research, and supported national strategies for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage. He has also contributed to arts education and program design with institutions such as the Centre for Performing Arts and Culture, and led editorial direction at the Uganda National Cultural Centre’s Arts and Culture Magazine.
As an Organizational Development Consultant, Alex has guided numerous Ugandan institutions – including KAPCDAM, Children of Grace, COSMA Sustainable Rural Development, and KISOBOKA Africa in strategic planning, governance, policy development, and capacity building, often in collaboration with international donors.
