Family Background
Jacob hails from Ayac Village, Gulu District in Northern Uganda, where he was raised in an extended family that, at one time, numbered over 20 members. Although both parents were formally employed – the father as a Store Manager and the mother as an Inspector at the Uganda National Bureau of Standards – they faced challenges in supporting their five biological children as well as several relatives living in the household.
Jacob’s passion for performance started early. By the age of 9, he was learning traditional Acholi dances, and by 11, he was already performing in public. After realizing that his talent in performing arts could be nurtured into a career, he was enrolled in a local dance troupe in Gulu where he became an expert in various Acholi dances. In 2024, his family relocated to Kampala, just as Rockies was looking for an Acholi dance trainer. His unique skillset earned him a place as a trainer-performer with the organization

Talent, Uniqueness & Achievements
Jacob is known for his mastery of Northern Ugandan dances such as Larakaraka, Dingi Dingi, Bwola, Ajere, and Konge. He also performs dances from other regions, including Ekitaguriro, Ekizino & Runyege-Ntogoro from Western Uganda, and Kadodi.from the Eastern. As an instrumentalist, he plays the pan pipe, traditional drums, xylophone, and tube fiddle.
Aspirations
Jacob aspires to become a Chemical Engineer, while continuing to nurture his talent in the performing arts.
