Mikeila Nakimuli

Gender: Female
Talent Areas: Traditional Dance
Family Background
Mikeila was born and raised in Busega Town, a bustling suburb of Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. She comes from a modest family of five, including her parents and two siblings. Prior to joining Rockies Organization, her father worked as a bus driver and her mother ran a small hairdressing business. Despite their best efforts, the high cost of urban living made it difficult to meet all the family’s needs.
Mikeila’s talent for dance was discovered early. In Primary Four, her teachers recognized her natural rhythm and enrolled her in the school’s Music, Dance, and Drama Club. From that point on, dance became a central part of her identity.
In 2015, her mother made the tough decision to seek work abroad in hopes of providing a better life for the family. At the same time, Mikeila wanted to join a community dance troupe, but her mother worried for her safety. Her father could not be relied upon to be present for the children because he was always on safari. Determined to find a structured, safe and supportive environment for her daughter, she searched for alternatives — and found Rockies Organization. That decision became the turning point in Mikeila’s journey.
How Rockies Organization Stepped In
Mikeila officially joined Rockies Organization in April 2015 after a successful audition and a thorough review of her potential and circumstances. Recognizing her drive and talent, Rockies provided her with comprehensive support — including education, healthcare, accommodation, and daily meals.
She was first enrolled at Mutundwe Blessed Primary School, where she completed her Primary Seven in 2016. From there, she moved on to Lubiri Secondary School and later Caltec Academy, completing both her Ordinary and Advanced Level studies. Currently, Mikeila is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business at Makerere University Business School (MUBS).
As she matured, Mikeila not only grew as a performer but also emerged as a leader and mentor within the Bantu Cultural Troupe. She is a guiding voice among younger dancers, often encouraging them to pursue both their education and talent with equal passion and discipline.
