Family Background

Vivian was born and raised in Busega, a suburb of Kampala City, Central Uganda. She and her sibling were raised by a single mother who earns a modest living from operating a grocery stall in local markets. Despite her mother’s tireless efforts, the household income was insufficient to support Vivian’s education, and she was on the brink of dropping out of school. In desperation, her mother turned to Rockies Organization for help.

How Rockies Organization Stepped In

Vivian joined Rockies Organization in 2019 while in Primary Six. Although her artistic talent was still raw at the time, her primary need was educational support. Rockies enrolled her at ABC Devine Primary School, where she completed her primary education, and later at Emirates Secondary School for O-Level. She is currently pursuing A-Level studies at St. Andrew’s College, Ssanda. On top of her educational pursuits, Vivian has devoted impressive effort to nurturing her artistic skills, shaping herself into the accomplished performer she is today.

Talent, Uniqueness & Achievements

Vivian has grown into a vibrant dancer and singer, excelling in traditional dances including Bakisimba, Nankasa and Muwogola (Central Uganda); Tamenha Ibuga, Irongo and Nalufuka (Eastern Uganda); and Larakaraka (Northern Uganda). She is equally a good instrumentalist, specializing in playing the rhythm bow-harp. Her passion, discipline, and grace continue to blossom under Rockies' mentorship.

Aspirations

Vivian dreams of becoming a Software Engineer, combining her creative and her determination to contribute to Uganda’s growing tech sector.
